RANGE RULES AND REGULATIONS

SAFETY
Firearms must be used in a safe manner.
Firearms shall only be loaded on the firing line.
All loaded firearms must be pointed down range.
Firearms will only be handled on the firing line. The shelf at the back of the range is for storage only.
Eye and ear protection must be worn at all times when on the firing line. This includes spectators.
Obey range "In use lights" enter or exit only when green light is on.
When not on the firing line, all semi automatic firearms must be unloaded with the action open and magazine removed.
When not on the firing line all revolvers must have the cylinders open and empty.
Shooters must stand behind the yellow line when not shooting.
No holster draw, cowboy or IPSC is permitted.
The designated Range Safety Officer has absolute authority on the firing line.
Members must obey the commands of the Range Safety Officer and abide by their decisions at all times.
Shooting alone can be dangerous, Your safety is your own responsibility. Use caution and common sense.
The Range Safety Officer will examine each firearm to ensure it is unloaded and safe before allowing shooters downrange.
No shooter may approach the the firing line (ahead of yellow line) while shooters are down range.
No person shall handle any firearm without the permission of the owner.
There shall be no open ammunition or charged magazines in the lounge area of the building, only on the firing line.
No person shall be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics while on club property.
Guests must be directly supervised by a member standing at his/her shoulder while on the firing line.
AMMUNITION
Only rifles of .22 cal rimfire may be used.
Centerfire rifle cartridges must not be used, even in handguns designed to use them.
No Jacketed ammunition or bullets made of alloy hard enough to damage the backstop may be used.
No cartridges shall be hand loaded to the point where they will cause damage to the back stop.
RANGE CONDUCT
Members are responsible to ensure that all Federal and Provincial laws are observed.
Members and guests must wear name tags while on club property.
Alcohol is not permitted on the club property at any time.
Members are required to keep the club property clean and in good working order.
Shooters shall pick up and remove all spent brass at the conclusion of the shooting session.
Shooters are required to remove all used targets.
Brass is recycled, Only put brass into containers supplied for this purpose.
No shooting late at night that may disturb our neighbours (after 11 pm, and before 8.0am)
Members are fully responsible for their guests.
Members will ensure that their guests sign in the attendance book for insurance purposes.
Members must pay a $1.00 insurance charge each time a guest attends at the range.
Members must report damage to an executive member as soon as possible.
Members must report any safety violation to an executive member as soon as is possible.
Only approved targets may be used on the range.
When leaving club facilities members must properly secure the building using the closing procedures posted at the exit door.
The range is a non smoking facility, Halton Hills By-Law #2003-0050.
